Report by Laz Abbott

I nipped down the chimney climby entrance (25 m rope is a perfect length for this) and sat in the sun whilst Laura rigged the open shaft and Imogen and Britt followed. Chuck and Peter nipped down the chimney.

During my wait, I went off and visited North Chamber (been in here before, not particularly exciting) and Cavern 32 which I'd not been in before. This is quite a big chamber and quite a surprise when you squeeze through the little crawl into it.

Down the next pitch and I wandered back and forth between helping people down a climb and talking to Laura who was rigging. We didn't spot the shiny P-hanger in the roof at the pitch-head and were about to use the dubious natural I've used in the past! Not the easiest of pitch-heads, especially on the way back up!

Imogen managed to get _all_ of her pony tail trapped in her rack, even though she was wearing a balaclava! Knives were drawn in readiness for removing Imogen's pony tail but Chuck managed to haul her back up to the y-hang and she was able to release herself.

Before and during this excitement, Laura and I went down to the canal and decided against going for a crawl through it and I climbed up into the Long Gallery. I went right for quite a way until it got quite wet. Then headed the other way for a few metres and gave up because I didn't fancy crawling in mud!

:)

I set off out with Laura and Imogen while the others went exploring the Long Gallery and then got lumbered helping the divers to haul gear!

The three of us went up the bottom pitch and the climbed up into Burnett's Passage and bypassed the second pitch, entering the open pot at the North end. I had been pondering going to Gour Chamber and trying to get to the upstream(?) sump but my carbide had decided to die by this point and daylight was the best bet!

:)

All three of us went up the chimney to exit, and I sat on the ledge half-way up the open pot eating lots of wild garlic!

A fun trip.
