I didn't actually cave but instead set up the tea and dahl stall with my assistant Ade. I made a lot of tea :-). Also i drove rich's car without him there (all of 1 metre!). I've never been so popular!

Good fun, albeit a "little" crowded down there! Tea and curry were good!

It was my first time ever - definitely not the last! I really enjoyed it! :-)

It all got off to a good start with the standard caving departure time of 7am however bad weather in the Dales prevented our weekend plan of doing Vespers followed by Nick pot (one day I'll get to do this cave!). Our back up of Ireby Fell didn't seem sensible either, so alas someone came up with doing Bar pot and camping underground. One of the most surreal experiences ever, not really too sure if I actually got any sleep.... read more

If I had a perfect day, I would have it start this way. Go to Gaping Gill and have a tallboy, yeah!

Then I'd meet up with my friends, head out of the cave again! Awesome trip, though the actual trying to sleep part was quite awful :( More beer needed next time! Awesome rating: 5/5 Man rating: 5/5 Near death rating: 1/5 (would have been 5 if anyone had stood under the waterfall :P) YES rating: YES :D

Urgh. Not recovered yet. At the risk of using a somewhat overused phrase, this was an AWESOME trip. My estimate of 5-6 hours underground was a little optimistic (actual time underground a little under 10.5 hours - a very late return to York for a Sunday night). Due to numerous previous Easegill adventures we were lucky to have done all of the passages at least once before, and often many times. However we still managed to lose... read more

Not really a YUCPC trip, as we didn't use a single item of YUCPC gear. We went in via the Mere entrance as it was a dry day following a lot of dry weather (this entrance is usually sumped). Finding the entrance took a while, as we hadn't twigged that you start off going upstream. We spent quite a while looking for the other entrance, but couldn't find it. After rigging the Mere entrance, Steve went for a... read more

On a fine September morning, as the sun was just beginning to rise over the Vale of York and the blurry shadows formed by the trees were rapidly shortening, four of the nation's greatest adventurers were gathering for a quest that would push not only their limits, but the limits of what was humanly possible. They would boldly go where no man had ever gone before. This is not their story. ... read more

Things I have learned: 1. Keep High! 2. The T-Rift thing has a slightly bigger width at the top than the size of my waist/hips making point 1 very tricky.

Kevin wins this time, no need to return. I didn't have a hangover. Mwahahahaha

I have well and truly done this cave. Bottoming Brown Hill Pot next. Not sure what Nemo was complaining about - the T-rift was well easy :-)

scum could have been level two at times but mainly down to sweat and personal scummyness (level 5- due to no shower the night before). the prettiest cave i have seen in the uk and all in a very short section, well worth a visit, but be warned hard level of two due to contortions to avoid breaking formations.

fantastic, but by accident i made laura go through more water than she needed to, woops and that meant i had to do the same horrid bit, tryed to get out of it but i got forced to do it, ewww. got as far as sump one then turned around and went out, lovely cave with the biggest curtains in the uk, thank you YUCPC and BEC (they get everywhere don't you know).

Note, whilst the canyoning went uber smoothly, the "5" for faff is due to: 1) Not knowing where we were going. 2) Not knowing whether any of the 'canyons' from the dodgy translation were doable. 3) Not knowing how much gear to take 4) Not knowing whether any gear was needed 5) Driving up a track and grounding the 'black' car numerous times only to decide not to do that canyon. 6) Not taking a watch 7) setting a callout but not changing it following 2hrs of... read more

The canyon we did was pretty good in the end (except for the start which is little more than a stream).
