What a jolly jape! :)

After lots of faffing about about who was in which car, where everyone's gear was going, a trip to Hitch and Hike to take lights back and a quick look at gear, and finally we ended up at Edale station.

We looked longingly at the pub as we walked past but carried on. Headed up the path along the side of a stream. The wind was stupidly gusty and strong. Being buffeted by the wind caused lots of random staggering and made it feel like you were drunk!

Followed the streamway and went right at the obvious fork, after which the walk turned into scrambling up boulders in a stream! Much more fun! At about this point, Kevin and Simon went back to the pub.

We reached the top and all climbed onto the big bouldery thing there. Then followed the ridge round to the right and down a different path pack to Edale and the pub. Up on top, I saw what I reckon was probably a peregrine falcon. I also stood for a few minutes watching a kestrel near the bottom of the path. It didn't see anything to grab for it's din-dins, though!

:)

Chips and pud in the pub. Yum!
