Report by Peter Scowcroft

Hi,
I am not sure why Hernell Moss is on the title of this trip, I thought it was a planned walk on the moor?

Either way as planned I headed upto the moor with the first party and decided that if we walked in a straight line we would run out of moor quite quickly, so therefore walking in circles would extend our foggy boggy fun!

After walking for a few hours we found that a bit of the hill was missing, kinda like a hole. Knowing that the second party would have no chance of finding us and would therefore be unable to see this phenomenon I walked back to the path with Debs to get them.

Party two turns up and all rejoice!
We then decide again that the moor is so fun to walk around that we should walk moor (geddit). My route back for some reason did not seem to work, but as the sheep and cloud were still there we concluded that party one must have carried this hole away to some other part of the hill (holes weigh very little after all)!

A few more hours and my hands started to shake from booze withdrawl so to the pub I went. After sitting in the pub drinking for a few hours I thought it's time for a prank call, so being outside Cave rescue, we made the call having a bet on the number of beardies that would show. 15 mins later one caver turned up (we snikered), un-bearded (I won) but sober (I lost too). we explained our joke and he drove off again timed to the arrival of the second party.

So as strolls on the moor go followed by beer, it went quite well, not sure what all the fuss was about? :)
