After getting all my gear clean from Logarcek it was rather typical that I would yet again get caked in mud, was seeing the rather uninspiring sum at the end worth it? mmm! A cave however very similar to Logarcek, unlike the previous day I feel like we scratched the surface of this cave despite spending a long time underground. Another cave I got to rig! Rather annoying I was using a 23 m rope to rig a 3 m hand line for the approach to the first pitch. From here you have a choice of going left or right, I went left down a bit of a scree slope where according to the guide there is ‘a small natural thread, a rusty old piton and a short stalagmite’ to rig off. Thankfully Kev spotted some spits on the right hand which must have been put in since the guide had been written and certainly seems safer. As they were on the roof I used some nice rings for rigging. There was a friendly spider and some less friendly midges at these rigging points. Really you can just have a sensible rope length and continue off the entrance handline. From here I made it up as I went along. I saw a nice stall and thought ‘lets put a sling round that and get a rebelay going, then I saw a nice natural to put a sling through, then a spit, which created a challenging rebelay to pass. Then the main abseil down the bottom was in a very well decorated chamber with a very large flowstone at the bottom. The floor then slopes away, Kev found the blasted passage which lead to the muddy crawl (which was fine) and Labyrint. We had the rope intending to descend the last pitches, but by the time we go there we were too muddy anyway. Also I could only see two naturals to rig off, and since there didn’t seem to be too much further on it didn’t seem worth it. Again a good amount of poking around ensued; the mud effigy of the pregnant woman giving birth provided much amusement especially for Christian. I also de-rigged which was good fun! This and Logarcek had got me quite caved out!
