A day spent wandering around in the fog, finding the cave, wandering around in the fog for a lot more, finding the cave, caving, wandering around in the fog eveb further, before finally going home!It is surprisingly difficult to walk in a straight line. ridiculously so in fact. The first few tries were alright, as if we couldnt find the cave, we somehow managed to return to the path and try again. However, when the path could no longer be found, well, who had any clue which direction was correct?! Saw two new digs tho, one with a tent and one with a huge machine thing which although no idea what they were looked exciting, however can probably never be found again by us! Luckily i also managed to go caving, and it was great just going straight down to the bottom without having to wait for it to be rigged!
James mentioned a cacophony of errors - mistake number one (major!) not bringing a compass. even if not knowing the bearing of the cave, wandering around the moor aimlessly with no sense of direction is not a good or particularly succesful activity!
