Report by Nicola Gover

The day began well..we found the cave easily enough (apart from the spiky things and nettles)and then found a better way round to it. when we returned to the car we had aquired a little friend- a small annoying dog (kevin liked it, the rest didnt).
then the first thing went wrong-gover forgot his helmet and had to drive back for it (in full caving gear!)
while he was gone the dog continued to annoy/amuse us, and i teased it with a mars bar :)
on his return we headed towards the cave (quite late now!)followed by the little dog...
it would not leave us alone..
we ignored it until we got into the first field of cows..unfortunately the cows did not. It ran at them and they REALLY didnt like that as they had loads of calves with them, so they ALL stampeded at high speed after the dog, who seemed to be enjoying it although it was actually metres from being trampled to death! (it had very short legs). Gover managed to pick it up when the cows stopped near us and dropped it over the wall to save it! however, by then the cows were VERY ANGRY and associated us with the evil dog! they walked closer and closer to us and stood staring and mooing angrily and stamping their feet.
slightly scared by now kevin and laura climbed onto the wall where the dog tried to jump back up and into the field. Me and gover edged our way towards the end of the field, followed by the cows (me quite scared!).
the other side of the electric fence (very flismy looking and not even definately on) we noticed there was a big bull in the field! and that the dog had returned and could easily run into the field again here! we stood deliberating, the dog in between us and the cows (gathered in the field corner looking angry)...if we carried on to the cave we had to go past the cows and into another field of cows (and the dog would follow us). the cows would then kill either us or the dog or both! if we made it to the cave the dog would stay outside and surely die!
not wanting to come out to a squished dog and since it was getting late, we decided to abandon caving and led the dog away attached to kevin by cows tails!
once away from the cows we set the dog free who continued to follow us back to the car, and we didnt get rid of it til we drove off at high speed with it running behind!
