We went out to find something a bit different and defiantly found it! Probably the most spectacular formations I've ever seen in the UK. From start to end, the cave passages were covered with Helictites, more than I've ever seen before! Not especially hard caving, but very rewarding. A long stream way with lots of crab walking terminating in a large waterfall (link to another cave?). The straw chamber we found at the top end of the stream was just amazing, thousands of straws, some over 2m long! As well as the crab walk, there are huge rift chambers and avens, well over 30m high.
Anyone else who goes to this cave must take REAL CARE not to damage anything as you get very close to the formations in several places. Some of the crab walk requires you to crawl in the stream way to avoid touching the Helictites.
I think its also worth mentioning that we got to the car park, got out, I opened my boot and chuck said "Oh dear, I may have forgotten somthing". He had. Everything! So he spent the day walking and sitting in the car. Chuck - go stand in a corner with Gover!
