An unexpectedly fun trip. I had been to Magnetometer twice before but not managed to get very far at all, this time though we had a crack (crap?! :p ) team of professionals and actually completed the bulk of it.

I had expected it to be mostly tight and awful but once you get past the wet and dry crawl at the start its actually quite big. There's some really interesting streamway with bizarre deep holes in the floor and some great Gour pools.

We made it to Canton Hall in reasonable time and made the 15m or so descent down to the bottom. Next followed a change with the start of the Rough Crawl. After spending some time in a rift that a rat would thing twice about fitting down, we sacked it off for another day. Canton Hall is the end if the bulk of the cave so I'm satisfied that we did what we went out to do.

Good trip, worth a neo-fleece but you'd survive without one.
