As fantastic as this cave was, the second leader lead trip – with 12 people! After two long trips in as many days and a late night I felt quite off during the first half of the trip. Although it was quite clear that the guide had a heavy night as well lol! All of a sudden on the way back I seem to perk up thankfully and could appreciate fully the absolutely ridiculous amount of calcite formations. I’m sure that I could have spent all day staring at the crystallinty. The cave entrance is on par with Peak cavern, very imposing. Didn’t need to bother with white water rafting after this trip! On the way in I was in the guide’s boat, so the water was undisturbed so there was plenty of proteus to be seen. As well as the boating there was still a far amount of stomping over quite slippery ground.
