It was a late start and I was under orders to 'please hurry up' but finally did manage to make it out of the cottage after everyone had left for complicated wet caves that were apparently "our worst nightmare"! We had no map, no directions but did pack yummy food and a GPS nav. Anyway, somehow we managed to take the alternative route to the waterfalls, passing many people in the opposite direction who had failed to reach anything wetter than a small puddle - of which there were plenty. We (as pseudo intrepid cavers) pressed on regardless and hit upon a really cool waterfall. We walked right under it and out the other side. Never done that before. Really fun. There were a few more miles of walking that afternoon, lunch on a tuffet and of course, an unconventional route home which led us to..... a cave.
