Prod's Pot - 21 Oct 2007

A rather demanding, although short trip. Perhaps not one to leave till the last day when we were already quite knackered!Simple entrance pitch led to a 45 degree rift down to a tight right angle bend to the top of the second pitch. After much consideration about the best route, Matt and I managed to squirm down to the blind pot just before the pitch only to discover that the P hanger was about 2m above us. After some interesting third-in-line rigging from Gover, I managed to get down the pitch.
A larger rift chamber gave a bit of a rest bite before more tight rift leading to the infamous jammed boulder before the last pitch. More bloody awkward rigging and I got into position, then changed it, then changed it again! Much bouncing and screaming and I popped past the chock-stone like a cork from a bottle and descended into the fine stream passage.
An awkward entrance series (no to be underestimated) but a rewarding river passage. We only made it this far unfortunately as we were all too knackered and decided to sack it off in favour of cake back at the cottage. Back next year me thinks.
