Report by Matt Ewles

Very very very very wet and cold!!! At the end of the tourist bit was a 20-30 metre 'swim' which was just about walkable if you are tall, but meant ice cold water up to the chin. Made swimming in the North Sea seem warm, and left me speechless, shivering, grumpy (sorry to everyone) and on the verge of turning back, for the first half of the downward journey. However, once I had warmed up and stopped shaking (sounds more horrific than it was) it became much more fun, involving no pitches, but loads of fantastic squeezes and climbing. The journey back was great, as I had warmed up by then and thoroughly enjoyed it. The swim back to 'shore' was pretty horrific, with hyperventilations all round (except those in wetsuits) but was worth it to see the faces on the tourists. Top class cave, would love to go back, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone without a wetsuit.
