Doing Easegill with Gover is awesome – he knows the place like the back of his hand, which allows for some serious stomping and keeps faff to a minimum. There was a bit of a delay at the top of easegill aven when there was a slight doubt as to the way on at the bottom. I was already half way through a crawl when I was told to wait, so since I was already lying down decided to have a bit of a nap. We were shortly on our way again though.

I cant remember where, but somewhere we found a horrendously muddy bit. It involved crawling through a good few inches of thick gloopy stuff and I kept getting stuck to the floor! The fact I could see almost zero red left on my oversuit or cowstails (even after quite a lot of washing in the streamway later!) accounts for the high scum rating.

It was fecking freezing when we got out of County so it was a very brisk walk back to the cottage where we realised we’d get severely shouted at if we were to go inside in the state we were in… This resulted in a lot of streaking as several of us stripped down to our underwear and ran into the cottage to find some clean dry clothes. Several cups of tea later and I was nicely warmed up and ready to help Imo make dinner :)
