I absolutely love doing any trips in the Gaping Gill system, and this was no exception. Yeah it was raining when we were getting changed and everyone always moans about the long walk (which I actually always enjoy), but to see Gaping Gill with so much water was fantastic (even the water coming down South East Pot was a lot). There was even more water than a recent underground camp in the system that I was on, all the waterfall were basically merged in to one. You couldn’t even see the place where you land for Dihedral route. The trip went really well, I set about rigging at about 1pm and successfully found the route to the main chamber, and was out for about 5pm. Fantastic trip!
