this cave was chosen as our srt kits were feeling somewhat rejected and neglected, being in wales and all. Thus in order to cheer the little fellas up a bit we trekked (and i mean trekked) to Pant Mawr, experiencing all manner of sunshine, rain, snow and hail on the way. when we finally arrived (about three days later) it was a good little trip, lots of unspolit pretty stuff to see. Not the longest or most hardcore trip in... read more

a wicked trip though was just a tad damp to get anywhere near the main streamway. boo. yet all was not lost as we made a point of seeing every possible formation etc on the way out. lots of exciting free climbs, scrotty crawls and funky pretty stuff ensued -fun for all the family. yet the day was truly enhanced by the eighth wonder of the world: the swcc hut. an amazing place, a true oasis of warmth and happiness... read more

It wasn't that long but it had some 'kin big shafts in it. Using a tackle bag strap as a sling on the last pitch was 'innovative', thanks gove.

The plan for an elite midweek breakaway trip was somewhat foiled by a visit to Ziggy's the previous evening. Still, I only fell asleep at the wheel once which I consider pretty good going, all things considered.

The walk up the hill was thoroughly unpleasant in the heat, and by the time we found the cave we had nearly slacked off due to a hangover/dehydration combination. To add further insult to probable impending injury, the rope we had taken for one... read more

Timings above are somewhat out, I don't think the first group got underground before 1.30pm. Beautiful cave, badly executed trip thus the low fun rating in my vote but a cave I would love to repeat.

This was a very gorgeous cave, especially the entrance pitch which goes down to a lake and looks just like Lord of the Rings. It is nice to feel I was in group competant and efficient for once, although this was due to Gover's rigging, he seemed to have no problem doing the splits above awkward pitch heads. And we had 4 tackle sacks between us so Ade had to carry 2 at once, ha ha. It was all going swimmingly until... read more
